Trying something new can be daunting so we'd love to help you feel as relaxed as possible!
Our vision is to be a church where everyone can encounter the transforming love of Jesus. Every time we meet, our hope is that God will speak directly into people’s lives, changing us for ever and for good.
Our main service is at 10am every Sunday and we’d love you to be our guest.
Here are some key details you might find helpful:
Is there a dress code?
There is no dress code at all. Please dress as you would normally and come as you are.
What denomination is the church?
We are an Anglican Church and part of the Church of England.
How long is the Sunday service?
The service is normally around 1hr 15-mins, with refreshments afterwards.
Each service caters for all ages and all the family. We all meet together for the first 15-minutes then children go to their groups whilst the adults have a talk based on the day’s Bible reading. Our music includes both traditional hymns and more modern songs.
What if my children have never been in a church group before?
Please don’t worry!
We love having children and they’re a hugely important part of our family – please let them enjoy themselves – but please also be respectful of the need of others to hear the service.
We have a fully trained and DBS-checked team who will be there to help and guide you through everything. Just look out for the people with a lanyard and ‘children’s church’ badge!
There’s no need to sign up in advance, but we will ask each parent/guardian to complete a “Children’s Church Registration Form”.
Is the church easy to find?
You can find us on Church Balk in Edenthorpe. Look out for the road signs and we’re right next to Canon Popham primary school. The post code is DN3 2PP and there’s plenty of free parking on site.
Can I sit anywhere?
Yes! Come on in and make yourself at home. We have a welcome team who will greet you on the way in and will be able to help you with any questions you might have.
I’ve not been to church before, will I be able to follow what’s going on?
Yes! All our services are led from the front with all song words, etc. shown on two screens.
During the service we’ll hear God speak to us through the bible and ask how what we learn applies to everyday life. We’ll also sing praise to God in songs and speak to him in prayer.
Please feel free to take part in as much or as little as you’d like.
Does it cost anything?
Everything we do is completely free (and funded by the generous giving of the church family).
Everyone who comes to a service is encouraged to stay for some free refreshments afterwards, too. It’s a great opportunity to make new friends and catch up with old ones.
